The EU-LAS project, implemented by the Small Arms Survey, Interpol, and the World Customs Organization (WCO), in collaboration with the League of Arab States (LAS) and financed by the European Union (EU), is hosting an online event focusing on the identification of illegal military goods at borders. The Small Arms Survey will present phase II of the European Union (EU)–League of Arab States (LAS) project designed to support LAS State security forces, including customs, in their fight against illicit small arms and light weapons (2021-2024).

The Small Arms Survey will examine the consequences of large scale diversions of weapons and military material on other countries, presenting some of the main research in this area and highlighting current border control challenges.

Illicit small arms and light weapons are one of the major causes for instability for nations and regions around the world. This module will provide information on the identification of SALW, their components and ammunition at the border.
